MANA3333 “Clicker” Instructions
We will begin using the eInstruction response pads or “clickers” in the second week of the semester. That means you will need to have registered yourself and your clicker for your class before Monday of the second week of the semester. Following are instructions for how to register yourself and your clicker and policies regarding clicker usage for quizzes.

Purchasing enrollment
codes
Enrollment codes packaged with textbooks are good for two semesters, and should not need to be entered again. If you are asked for an enrollment code then you need a new one. New enrollment codes may be available at the bookstores, but I encourage you to use online purchasing since that will be a bit cheaper. IF you are purchasing online, use the “purchase access” link next to the blank for the enrollment code after you have entered your class key and serial number. You will need to use a credit card or virtual check to pay $15 for access this way. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE AN ENROLLMENT CODE – simply enter the code and save yourself some money.
After you are
registered
Once you are registered for your class you will need your username and password to log into the eInstruction site. From there you use the “student admin” link on the left to change information, such as change the “clicker” registered to you under Pad Serial Number if you lose your clicker and buy a new one. You may also be able to see some of your grade information at the eInstruction site (this feature does not always work). Please note that the eInstruction system records percentage scores, which do not directly reflect your points earned.

Common mistakes and
how to fix them
1. “I
enrolled, but
my name doesn’t show up when the attendance is checked on the computer.”
Most likely you have enrolled in the wrong section.
By far the most common mistake students make is enrolling their clicker in the wrong section. The fix for this is easy. Log on to eInstruction (at http://www.eInstuction.com) using your username and password. If you are prompted to “Choose Your Class”, then choose a class – when doing so, check and see if one of the choices has the starting day and time for your class section after “MANA3333” and choose that one (this would mean you are actually enrolled in the correct section and this is not your problem).
2. “My
name is on the list for attendance on the computer, but my clicker will
not register. We tried putting the batteries back in but
it
still didn’t work.”
Most likely you have something wrong with the pad serial number; for example, your clicker has a “D” in its serial number but you entered a “0” when you registered it.
To fix this, log on to eInstruction (at http://www.eInstuction.com) using your username and password. If you are prompted to “Choose Your Class”, then choose a class. Select “student admin” from the choices on the left, then look for the box under “Pad Serial Number:”. Compare the number in the box to the number on your clicker, and make any changes needed. Most common mistakes are putting in the letter “o” for the number “0” and putting in the number “0” for the letter “D”. This is not case-sensitive, so go ahead and use lowercase letters when you enter your pad serial number. If you make any changes, be sure to click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom. To check that you did actually make the change, choose “home” from the menu on the left and then go back to “student admin” and check the pad serial number.
3. “When
log in it shows that I have a McGraw-Hill credit, but when I try to enroll
I am prompted
for an enrollment code.”
There is
an occasional glitch in the software that calls for an enrollment code that
you don’t’ need.
Just enter the class key again for the enrollment code and it should let
you in. Note that this only works if you
had credit from using an enrollment code that came in a textbook last semester.
4. “When
I try to
enroll it says that the class key is not valid.”
Sometimes the software messes up and you just have to try
again, but usually this means that you messed up when entering the key.
5. “I
tried to enter my enrollment code from last semester, but it says that
the code is already in
use or invalid.”
You cannot use the same code twice. Some codes (those that come in the new
textbook) are good for two semesters, but to use the second semester you have
to log in to eInstruction (at http://www.eInstuction.com)
using your username and password that
you used the first semester that you used the code. Then you will get a message that indicates
that you have a credit in the system. If
you forgot your username and password, see below.
If you have other problems that aren’t on the list, email meand/or call eInstruction toll free at 888 333-7532.
